Danielle Longo, LCMHCA
Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate
I believe therapy begins with creating enough safety to be honest about what you’re experiencing—and enough curiosity to explore what may be underneath it.
How I Think About Therapy
I see therapy as a place where you don’t have to arrive with everything figured out. Sometimes we know something feels wrong but can’t quite name it. Other times, we understand what is happening intellectually but still find ourselves repeating patterns or reacting in ways we don’t fully understand.
I believe meaningful change often begins by creating enough emotional safety to become more honest and curious about these experiences. Together, we can look beneath the surface of what is happening now and explore the emotions, relationships, and past experiences that may be shaping how you see yourself and respond to the world around you.
I work with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, and difficulty with emotional awareness or vulnerability.
I also bring a neurodiversity-affirming perspective to my work and have experience supporting neurodivergent clients in understanding themselves without approaching difference as something that needs to be corrected.
What To Expect In Our Work Together
My style is calm, compassionate, and relational. I want therapy to feel like a space where you can take your time, speak honestly, and explore parts of yourself that may be difficult to access elsewhere without feeling judged or pushed.
I draw primarily from person-centered and psychodynamic approaches, which means we may spend time noticing patterns, making connections between past and present experiences, and developing a deeper understanding of your emotional world. At the same time, insight alone is not always enough. When helpful, I incorporate practical strategies from REBT and trauma-focused approaches that are tailored to what you need and what you want to change.
There is no expectation that you share more than you are ready to share. My role is to be present with you in the process, gently encourage curiosity, and help create the safety needed for greater self-understanding and authenticity to develop.
The Importance of Fit
You might find working with me helpful if…
You have a hard time identifying, expressing, or trusting your emotions.
You tend to keep vulnerable parts of yourself protected, even in close relationships.
Anxiety, depression, grief, or past experiences are affecting the way you feel about yourself or connect with others.
You notice patterns in your relationships or reactions that you would like to understand more deeply.
You are navigating a transition and trying to understand who you are within the changes happening around you.
You are neurodivergent and want therapy that respects how you experience and process the world.
You want a therapist who will give you room to move at your own pace while also gently helping you look beneath the surface.
You are looking for both deeper self-understanding and practical support for making meaningful changes in everyday life.
