Katie Heath, LCMHCA
Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate
My goal is to create a thoughtful and supportive space where clients feel encouraged to explore their experiences and move toward meaningful change.
How I Think About Therapy
I see therapy as a collaborative process where people are invited to explore their experiences openly and actively participate in shaping the direction of their care. Many of the individuals, couples, and families I work with are navigating moments when communication feels difficult, relationships feel strained, or life transitions have created uncertainty.
My approach focuses on meeting clients where they are and creating a space where each person’s perspective can be understood. In family or couples work, this often means slowing down conversations so that each member feels heard and their experience is reflected accurately in the room. As patterns begin to become clearer, we can work together to explore new ways of communicating, understanding one another, and moving forward.
What You Can Expect When We Work Together
In sessions with me you can expect a warm and engaged space where collaboration is central to the work we do together.
With adolescents, I often incorporate creative approaches—such as art or other expressive activities—to help them explore and communicate aspects of their internal world that may be difficult to put into words. With adults, couples, and families, our conversations may involve exploring relational dynamics, clarifying misunderstandings, and identifying patterns that may be contributing to conflict or disconnection.
I can be direct in sessions when it feels helpful, especially when pointing out discrepancies in communication or moments where messages may not fully align. My goal in these moments is to support clearer understanding and encourage meaningful dialogue rather than avoidance of difficult conversations.
