Roxanna Books, LCMHCA & LCAS
Roxanna Books, LCMHC-A, LCAS-A, NCC, specializes in working with adults seeking healing from trauma, substance use, and the lasting effects of life experiences held in the body and nervous system. She is EMDR-trained and Reiki Level II trained, and she approaches therapy through a holistic, mind–body lens that honors the wisdom of the body alongside emotional and psychological healing.
At the heart of Roxanna’s work is the understanding that trauma and addiction are often deeply connected. She recognizes that many clients developed patterns of substance use as a way to survive overwhelming experiences, and she believes healing requires more than insight alone. EMDR is a central part of her practice and is used to gently and intentionally process trauma, reduce nervous system activation, and create space for new ways of responding. Alongside EMDR, she integrates person-centered therapy, CBT, DBT, and holistic practices such as Reiki to support grounding, regulation, and reconnection with self.
Roxanna has experience working with depression and other mood disorders, anxiety, complex PTSD, dissociative disorders, religious trauma, and dual diagnosis. Her style is warm, down-to-earth, and collaborative. She believes healing is not about fixing what is “broken,” but about creating safety, building awareness, and allowing progress to unfold over time. Therapy is approached as a shared process, guided by the client’s pace, values, and capacity, with the goal of helping individuals feel more present, embodied, and aligned in their lives and recovery.
